Description
The Philodendron Birkin is a striking, slow-growing tropical houseplant known for its glossy, dark green leaves adorned with vibrant, creamy-white pinstripes. A compact, self-supporting plant, it is a stable mutation of the Red Congo philodendron and makes a perfect, low-maintenance statement piece for indoor spaces.
Ideal Growing Conditions
To keep your Birkin thriving and maintain its unique variegation, follow these care requirements:
- Light: Provide bright, indirect light. Too little light will cause the variegation to fade and the plant to become leggy; direct sunlight will scorch the leaves.
- Water: Water thoroughly, but allow the top 1 to 2 inches of soil to dry out completely between waterings to prevent root rot.
- Soil & Humidity: Use a well-draining, aroid-friendly potting mix (e.g., standard potting soil with added perlite and orchid bark). It thrives in 50% to 60% humidity but adapts well to standard home environments.
- Temperature: Keep it in a warm environment between 65°F and 85°F. Avoid placing it near cold drafts or air conditioning vents.
We strive to fulfill your order as pictured; however, substitutions may be necessary due to flower availability. When substitutions are made, we match color and size as closely as possible and always use blooms of equal or greater value.
